1. Job Description 1 – Sales Executive

Bright Vision Events is a conference and events company based in the Midlands and has been established for over 30 years. Having seen a healthy growth in business over the last 3 years the company’s strategy is for further growth by increasing the it’s client base and by continuing to develop the range of products and services it offers.

The company’s expansion is primarily due to its high level of repeat business, the development of creative new products and services and its continued ability to deliver high quality events.

The company currently specialises in a wide range of conference and event services for the corporate market including: conference production, team building, evening entertainment, event theming, venue finding, exhibition support, and other associated event services.

Bright Vision Events is a full member of both the HBAA and EVCOM associations.

The Sales Executive’s Role

The sales executive will be based in the company’s offices in Warwickshire and be required to work closely with the events team to get a full understanding of the company’s key products and services.

The primary role will be to focus on identifying, sourcing and converting new business and taking an active role in monitoring and maximising business opportunities from existing clients and strategic partnerships.

The sales executive will report directly to the managing director.  

Primary Sales Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Focus on sourcing new business specifically large accounts and multiple event accounts.
  • Work closely with the events team to fully understand and maximise opportunities arising from new clients, enquiries and other business opportunities.
  • Monitor sales patterns and performance against forecasts.
  • Identify new markets and products.
  • Have a full understanding of the company’s financial budget and make sales and marketing decisions accordingly.
  • To make appointments and attend meetings at client offices and other locations as required.
  • Oversee incoming calls and distribute new enquiries to an available event manager, recording enquiries and logging follow ups.
  • Actively promote our ‘venue partners’, to strengthen our relationship.
  • Visit relevant conference & events managers and hotel sales representatives at their hotel on a regular basis promoting our key products and services.
  • Promote our incentives & record and monitor accordingly.
  • Arrange ‘promotional’ events to promote our products and services, as appropriate.
  • Source venues for clients in a venue finding capacity when required and supporting the events team when we are working with a client in a venue finding capacity.

Additional Responsibilities:

Social Media

  • Manage the company’s social media presence to include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Mail Shots

  • Be involved in all aspects of data capture.
  • Be actively involved in the design of mail shots.
  • Make follow up calls as required on mail shots.
  • Manage the data base, to include: Transfer all new contacts onto the data base, arrange the purchase of further data from reputable sources, considering GDPR requirements.

Website Management

  • Review the products & services that we currently have on our web site and propose upgrades and adding in new products & services accordingly.

Sundry Requirements

  • Be prepared to work on and with event managers on events in order to gain front line experience.
  • Attend promotions, exhibitions and other events as required.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal working hours on events when required.
  • Collation and management of event photographs.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience ideally within the event, hotel and conference market.
  • Experience in the event or hospitality industry – preferable but not essential – with the ability to understand how companies operate in this sector.
  • Experience of sourcing and winning new business. With an ability to demonstrate an increase in profits due to sales activity.
  • A self-starter, with initiative to make decisions and deliver the required outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present at board and director level.
  • A team-player, keen to contribute, share learning and learn from others.
  • Organisational and prioritisation skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong grasp of all Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to learn new tasks quickly and accurately.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are important. The role will require designing of mail shots, presenting to clients and venues and the ability to drive marketing plans for the business.  
  • An understanding of CRM systems and the sales process behind generating leads, maintaining customer contact and managing client accounts is essential.
  • Full Clean UK Driving Licence is essential.
