Today, we’re excited to introduce you to our Senior Events Manager, one of the creative masterminds who ensure every event is an unforgettable experience. Bayley has worked with Bright Vision Events for 2.5 years and in the industry 10 years. We asked Bayley more about her role, experiences, and what it’s like to work at Bright Vision Events.
Q&A with Our Event Managers
Q1: Can you tell us about your role as an event manager at Bright Vision Events?
My role involves taking enquiries and preparing bespoke proposals, site visits and meetings with clients, helping advise clients on which activities work best for their needs and how to organise their day, liaising with venues and agents, organising logistics which involve prepping equipment and loading/unloading vans, managing a team of facilitators on site, hosting team building activities, and potentially the most important job of all, keeping the team fed and watered!
We see the events through from the enquiry stage right through to packing up the equipment at the end of the event. It’s so nice when you get to be on site on the day, properly meet the client you’ve been chatting to and be a part of the event that you’ve been working so hard in the background to organise.
Q2: What inspired you to pursue a career in event management?
I’ve always loved going to events as a customer, whether it’s music festivals and concerts, food and drink festivals (I’m a big foodie), comedy gigs, pop up events, you name it. I was always fascinated to see what it took to pull that many moving parts all together behind the scenes. I also hate having a routine, so being all over the place sounded like an ideal career choice for me.
Q3: What has been your most memorable event at Bright Vision Events?
Probably an event I did last year, I had about 7 days to pull together an Outside The Box for 350 people. Quite a stressful planning process as that activity requires a large team so we had to send out a bat signal to our facilitators. Our trusty team came through for us, and we had a very successful event with a very happy client!
Q4: What’s the most challenging part of your job?
Juggling being out and about on events whilst keeping on top of emails and admin.
Q5: What’s it like working at Bright Vision Events?
Fab! We’re a small but mighty team and we all genuinely love what we do, so whether you’re in the office or out on the road, you’re always surrounded by positivity and laughter!
Q6: Any advice for aspiring event managers?
Don’t be afraid to get stuck in, ask the silly questions, always plan ahead, and cancel your gym membership – you’ll be doing plenty of exercise at work!
