Meet Our Production Executive – George

At Bright Vision Events, we believe our success is driven by the incredible team behind the scenes. Today, we’re excited to introduce you to our production executive who ensures every event runs smoothly and efficiently. We sat down with George, our Production Executive, to learn more about his role, experiences, and what it’s like to work at Bright Vision Events.

Q&A with Our Production Executive

Q1: Can you tell us about your role as a production executive at Bright Vision Events?

I have several elements of my role, the first stage is producing an initial quote for a client. Once our wonderful sales team has helped generate the lead, and someone has got in touch with us. I will make contact with them and try to establish what they are trying to achieve with their event, whether it is an internal business update, AGM, awards night or pitching to potential external partners. I will then work with the client to find the perfect solution within their budget. This is the most important part of my job. Once both sides are happy with the solution, the setting up and running of the actual event is a pleasure as we work with a fantastic team and venues, so any problems that arise on the day we can always get sorted.

Q2: What inspired you to pursue a career in event production?

I have always loved film, TV, podcasting and technology as a whole, although I have only had a limited interaction with the film and TV, I found it was a lot of “hurry up and wait”. Then once you finished working on the project, you had to wait sometimes several years for the show to be released. However, live production there is no waiting, everything is much more immediate, you get instant feedback, and you have to be much more alive and ready to make solutions fast.

Q3: What has been your most memorable event at Bright Vision Events?

We did a conference for a client; Partnership in Growth event in 2024, and we also provided their evening entertainment. There was one attendee at the event who was ninety-three years old, and when we started blasting the music for our Musical bingo event, he got up and started dancing away; everyone loved it and he had a great night!

Q4: What’s the most challenging part of your job?

I would say explaining to clients why we suggest certain ways of working with the knowledge we have. For example, If they want to use lapel microphones, the client may say we only have one person speaking at a time, we don’t need more than one mic? We know if there is a speaker change and they only have one mic, then the only way to get the microphone to the next speaker is for us to unmic the first speaker and mic up the second person, all of which takes time. So, you actually need two microphones to make the event flow with no disruptions.

Q5: What’s it like working at Bright Vision Events?

I find myself learning every day at Bright Vision, because I work with incredibly talented people and the culture is to share knowledge. Everyone is incredibly generous with their time, and I am always excited to go to work to build my knowledge.

Q6: Any advice for aspiring production executives?

Keep curious, there are always new things to learn, whether it is video, lighting, sound, graphics, show calling, CAD, or pitching. This role is always evolving!
