One of our key specialisms is planning and implementing themed evening events for clients. This testimonial is from a delighted client for a carnival themed evening event that we ran for Taylor Wimpey (South Midlands) on 16th July 2016, for their annual summer event at Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire.
It’s All in the Planning for a Successful Themed Evening Event
It was a good sized event, with c.180 guests present, so there was plenty of detailed planning over a 3 month period. Once the carnival theme was agreed and the venue selected, we made several visits to Whittlebury Hall to measure up and agree logistics with the conference team there.
The success of any event is down to the planning, hence we worked closely with the team at Whittlebury Hall to ensure we met our client’s expectations. We planned the installation of the event around the available time on the day of the event. In addition the de-rig following the end of the evening overnight night, to minimise disruption.
Our crew of 8 included designers and the installation team, along with table dressers and stand builders.
The Carnival Theme
The room was themed with red & yellow drape from a central hanging point in the ceiling with alternating drapes spreading across the ceiling. These were supported with ceiling to floor drapes to cover existing curtains – all up-lit with Led lighting. One wall in particular, covered in black star cloth, gave the room a feel of ‘night vision’.
Specially made red and yellow striped bar stools enhanced the theme. A Giant Balloon arch featured too, along with coloured drapes spiralled around existing columns. The tables were fitted out with alternative red & yellow chair covers and, as a finishing touch, table runners were specially employed to look after the guest’s needs. The effect was superb.
