Outdoor Team Building Activity for Open Minds

Communication, Leadership and Fun for Senior Management. We were delighted to be called in by the leading consultancy and coaching firm, Open Minds, to design and run an outdoor team building activity day for their senior management group. The day took place at the superb Fawsley Hall Hotel and Spa on 10^th May, and focused on communications and leadership skills in the morning, with some light-hearted team competitions in the afternoon. The client was delighted and the weather was good too.

The Morning Team Building Session

The morning session, run by Open Minds, dealt with the profiling of the senior management group. Our brief was to use our Labyrinth Challenge team building activity in a single team scenario to help with the profiling. The group worked as one team, putting into practice their communication skills and leadership skills, whilst making the best use of the resources available, to successfully complete the tasks they were set.

The Labyrinth Challenge is a collective name for one of our most popular team building activities, indoors or outdoors. Clients choose from a wide range of challenges to ensure the activity selected is right- and fine-tuned by us as necessary – to deliver their objectives. All of the challenges require a high degree of cooperation between team members, with outcomes angled towards genuine, and relevant ‘back to the office’ learning.

Light Hearted Competition in the Afternoon

The afternoon session ensured that the day was finished off in the more traditional team building fashion of light hearted competition between two teams. Activities featured included: Archery, Crossbows and laser clay shooting, followed by an egg launch that certainly taxed the engineering prowess of the group.

The weather stayed fine (so the wet weather contingency plans were not needed), and the winning team were delighted with their victory due to an impressive distance achieved in the final challenge with the egg sailing off towards the Northamptonshire countryside in fine style!
