Case study for Aarova for a reading of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’
Corporate Events Management covers a wide range of different types of event – conferences, exhibitions, team building activities and all sorts of themed events. Sometimes the event can be a bit unusual, as in this case, where we were asked to deliver a Shakespeare reading for the Belgian Company Aarova, which we detail in this testimonial from a very pleased client. A case of “Take pains. Be perfect,” you might say (with apologies to Shakespeare!!).
A Perfect Venue was Chosen
When we were asked by Aarova, to provide an ‘unusual’ event for 45 of their employees, we were intrigued. Providing ‘different’ and ‘unusual’ events is something we do as standard. So when they told us that what they wanted was a reading of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream as part of a pre-dinner entertainment event, it was no problem. Getting the right venue and the right actor to do the reading were the keys to delivering this event, perfectly.
The chosen venue was the historic Alveston Manor Hotel in Stratford upon Avon, of course, as this is where Shakespeare is believed to have written the original script for the play. Once we had secured the services of Eloise Secker, a talented actor, to do the reading, all we needed was the weather.
It was an excellent Evening and the Client was Delighted
Thankfully, the weather was perfect and the setting sublime. Eloise delivered a spell-binding performance, in the shadow of the famous tree in the grounds of Alveston Manor, which was appreciated by all of the delegates, who thoroughly enjoyed their authentic Shakespeare experience.
The evening was finished off with Eloise signing of a copy of the play for each of the guests as a memento of the occasion that all will remember.
