Q&A with Our Sales Director
Q1: What’s it like to be the Sales Director at Bright Vision Events?
Starting Bright Vision Events after COVID was an exciting challenge. The events industry was bouncing back, and businesses were eager to reconnect. It was the perfect time to bring fresh energy to corporate events.
As Sales Director, my role is all about building relationships and creating unforgettable experiences. From team-building activities to Exhibitions every day is different. The best part? Seeing ideas come to life and watching the amazing Bright Vision Team deliver exceptional events.
Post-pandemic, the demand for meaningful events has never been higher. We thrive on delivering innovative, high-impact experiences—and I love being part of that journey!
Q2: What inspired you to pursue a career in sales within the events industry?
I never planned to work in events—I actually started my career as a travel agent. But sometimes, the best opportunities come when you least expect them. My background in travel gave me a strong foundation in customer service, problem-solving, and understanding what makes an experience truly special. When I got the chance to move into the events industry, I quickly realised how much I loved the fast-paced, dynamic nature of it. I started of in hotels which gave me the ground work to move over to the agency side.
Sales became a natural fit because I enjoy building relationships and helping clients bring their visions to life. Whether it’s a team-building day, a conference, or a product launch, I thrive on creating experiences that leave a lasting impact. After COVID, the need for meaningful, engaging events became even stronger, making this career more exciting than ever.
Falling into events by accident turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to me—and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Q3: What has been your most memorable project at Bright Vision Events?
One of the most unforgettable experiences at Bright Vision Events was the event at Walton Hall on the hottest day of the year. We had a jam-packed day filled with mixed activities: a maze-like labyrinth, the Alternative Olympics, and, of course, the grand finale, a giant inflatable sausage racing launch. ( 6 man space hopper ) Despite the heat, everything came together perfectly. The energy was electric, and seeing everyone enjoying themselves in such a unique setting was truly rewarding. We even made sure to keep things cool with ice cream breaks throughout the day! The grand finale was definitely a highlight, with the giant inflatable sausage racing adding a fun, quirky twist to an already amazing day!
Q4: What are some challenges you’ve faced as a Sales Director, and how do you overcome them?
Being a Sales Director in the events industry comes with its challenges. One of the biggest? The post-COVID shift in client expectations. Businesses now demand more engaging, flexible, and hybrid event solutions. To stay ahead, I focus on understanding client needs and adapting our offerings to deliver innovative experiences.
Another challenge is the fast-paced, competitive nature of the industry. I tackle this by building strong relationships, staying on top of trends, and ensuring our team consistently delivers high-quality, memorable events.
Ultimately, success in sales is about resilience, adaptability, and passion—and that’s what drives me every day!
Q5: Any advice for aspiring sales professionals in the events industry?
Building strong relationships is key to success in sales. It’s not just about closing deals—it’s about understanding client needs, creating trust, and developing long-term partnerships. The better you connect with your clients, the more likely they are to return.
Adaptability is also essential. The events industry moves fast, with trends, technology, and client expectations constantly evolving. Being flexible and open to change will help you stay ahead and offer innovative solutions.
Hard work is a given in this industry, but it’s also a lot of fun. No two days are the same, and you’re constantly meeting new people, brainstorming creative ideas, and seeing exciting events come to life. If you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you’ll love the energy of event sales.
Knowing your product inside and out makes all the difference. Understanding event logistics, audience engagement, and what makes an experience truly memorable allows you to sell with confidence and credibility.
Challenges are inevitable, but resilience is what sets top sales professionals apart. Rejection is part of the job, but each setback is an opportunity to learn and improve. Stay passionate, work hard, and most importantly—enjoy the journey!
